Eating with your hands is some times necessary, not to mention convenient and often fun. Imagine the number of meals that require utensils that many of us would rather tear into with our hands when out to dinner. This is all the more reason to take advance of foods that require you to use your hands to consume. Below are a list of foods that must be eaten by hand no matter the occasion.

1. Burgers

An American staple, the burger is a quick, fast and ready to go meal that often requires a reduction in table manners to consume. Perfect for most occasions, whether an afternoon with the kids or your BFFs.  You can never go wrong with a nice succulent burger.

2. Gatsbys

This legendary giant roll is difficult to bite into, especially since some fillings are likely to spill out.  Nonetheless, there's no shortage of goodness with this dish!

3. Curry-based Dishes

It is not only customary to eat Indian food with your hands, but it is also the best way to fully appreciate the combination of different flavors. Just remember to wash your hands thoroughly and eat only with your right hand, as eating with your left hand is considered disrespectful in Indian culture. Enjoy this cuisine with your hand using your thumb and first two fingers to push the morsels into your mouth.

4. Wat And Injera

Eating with your hands is a norm in Ethiopia. So, it stands to reason that it is the best way to experience its traditional cuisine. Only use your right hand, as the left hand is considered unclean in Ethiopian culture as well. Simply take a piece of injera (thin sourdough flatbread) in your right hand, wrap it around some wat (stews and sauces), and enjoy. If you ever pay a visit to an Ethiopian themed restaurant, be sure to test out this delightsome delicacy.

5. Kota

This South African township classic can only be eaten with your hands. After all, it is a street food, made by slicing a loaf of white bread into quarters hollowing out a piece and stuffing it with various toppings. It's even served in a clear plastic packet to make it easier to hold and bite into.

6. Pap And Vleis

The terms pap and vleis are used interchangeably. The way South Africans eat pap and vleis has evolved with the times. However, most people eat this local staple with their hands (which is also the best way, if we're being honest). There's

nothing better than pinching off a small piece of pap, rolling it into a ball, and dipping it into the stew's gravy.

7. Pizza

There are many different ways to eat pizza. While we don't deny the validity of anyone's method, we believe that eating it with your hands is definitely the best.

8. Ribs

While ribs are delicious and great for many occasions, I would not recommend for a first date.  Most importantly, though, they must be eaten by hand.

9. Tacos

It makes no difference whether the taco has a soft or hard shell, or how good you are at avoiding messes – ONLY two hands allowed! Whatever the stuffing, the best and most efficient way of eating a taco is it being shoved into your mouth, with both hands.

10. Wraps

There is absolutely no reason to eat a wrap with utensils. The name implies that it is safe enough to hold in your hands while you eat it.
